EbM box mods - Jackfruit Wood

We can possibly use this wood  on our next run. It came from a jackfruit tree. It seems to handle temperature change better than ironwood. 

For example: 

These wooden boxes was placed inside a fridge for 30 hours and then dried for 3 days. Not a single crack! It's Impressive..  I think.. 

Don't get me wrong ironwood is very special in its own way...

EbM Elite Box Mods design 02

In our first design EbM 01, we created something simple and easy to hold. On our next design we decided to have something that holds your index finger "trigger". Although, it looks like a trigger, the design wasn't meant for it to resemble a pistol like feeling on your hands. The thought process was to improve your grip in holding your mod when you juggle with your hands with e-liquids. We felt that by adding that grove it will help keep your mod in your hand and you could easily direct your aim when your dripping.

More about iron wood "Kamagong"

There are many types of wood in the Philippines and among the most expensive and hardest to find and produce is Kamagong or “Iron Wood’. Wood cutters often shy away from a fully matured kamagong tree because they say that with a brand new chainsaw, you can only cut 2 fully grown trees at the most before the tree ruins your chainsaw hence the term “Iron Wood”.

Also known as Philippine Macassar Ebony. The kamagong or mabolo (Diospyros philippinensis) is prized for its excellent dark wood. Philippine Ebony is an exotic wood known for its beauty and durability. This wooden materials color ranges from a deep black color to dark brown and dark green with occasional wood patterns with light green color coupled with dark brown and black streaks running all across the wood. Since it is from nature and nature abhors uniformity, these wood patterns are virtually unpredictable in their appearance which adds to the aesthetic value of the wood and ensures each and every EbM elite box mods uniqueness in terms of wood grain pattern.

Some properties of the Philippine Macassar Ebony include top ratings in the areas of density, hardness and impact strength. This material has a high density which enables it to sink when placed on water where normal wood would float. Its natural hardness blunts most steel cutting tools for wood working and its impact strength is so high that when tested against other hardwoods, the most other material would stand virtually no chance against it. Macassar ebony is rare and is one of the most expensive timbers on the commercial market.

EbM Elite Box Mods design 01

Welcome to EbM Elite Box Mods!

This blog spot is a compilation of our wooden box Iron wood "Kamagong" designs and anything we find interesting regarding vaping industries, news, etc..

Let me introduce our first design that ignited our creative side in making EBM Box Mods. The hardest part about this new beginning is caused by using a type of wood that is called iron wood from the Phillippines. We call it the "Kamagong" this wood is the toughest wood on earth and a bit sensitive to temperature changes. 

A lot of wooden box mods design are derived from knife handles. The reasoning behind this is to make sure that it fits comfortably on your hand. Although, the application is different from vaping, we feel that if it's easy to hold, the more likely you will use your mechanical box mod "The function".

EBM 01 was created with this in mind, simple design, classic looking, and easy to hold with your hand. We believe that we have achieved it with this design.
